20.08.2017

Armadale snapped a five-match losing streak as they defeated Joondalup United 2-1 in the final round of the PS4 NPL WA season at Alfred Skeet Reserve on Saturday.

An early goal from Josh Booysen put United in front but James Atkins responded with two goals of his own to ensure his side finished their campaign with a victory.

Coach John O’Reilly said the best team won on the day and revealed he is looking forward to bolstering his squad in the pre-season.

The lads were keen to get a win to finish the season because we have had a few off-results in the last few weeks,” he said. “Overall I think we have been progressive this season, we have kept our heads up all the way to the end and that was exemplified by today’s win.

Hopefully we can kick-on now during the pre-season, pick up a couple of new players and strengthen what we have already started to build.”

Youth Cup Runners up

22.07.2017

Perth SC’s Under 18 team have claimed the State Cup after defeating Armadale in a penalty shoot-out at Perth Plasterboard Centre Stadium on Saturday.

It had appeared that Daniel Cumming’s 88th minute strike would give Armadale the victory until Perth’s Khaynan MacCarthy made it 1-1 a mere four minutes later to send the match to penalties.

Goalkeeper Makek Kuc would prove to be the hero for Perth as he saved two Armadale spot-kicks to help his side win 4-1 on penalties.

Army Let it Slip

22.06.2017

Two goals in two minutes was enough for Cockburn City to secure a 2-2 draw with Armadale in round 18 of the PS4 NPLWA season at Dalmatinac Park on Saturday.
Armadale stunned their opponents with two quick goals in the second half, but their lead was short-lived as Cockburn responded with two goals of their own just three minutes later.

Armadale made it 1-0 in the 54th minute when Ali Gholami curled a free-kick around the wall and past Cockburn keeper Luke Radonich.
James Atkins doubled his side’s lead just two minutes later when he headed home a cross from Charlie Kenna.

Armadale Clip the Gulls Wings

22.06.2017

Armadale returned from a sunny seaside trip to Sorrento with a valuable point, but it could been more as an early penalty was missed for the second time in 3 weeks.

Armadale coach John O’Reilly was frustrated that his side didn’t win the game, but praised the efforts of his improving side. The boys could have taken the lead from the penalty spot inside five minutes when Kyle King was fouled in the area, but James Morgan saved his spot-kick low to his right.

“It’s hard to walk away feeling too happy when we had a penalty, it didn’t go in and then we end up drawing 0-0,” he said. “Defensively we’re delighted. We’ve been working hard during the week and it was close to perfect in terms of shape and work-rate, but disappointing we didn’t nick it..''

Armadale’s best chance in the second half fell to Quinncroft, who was denied by a brilliant follow-up save from Morgan after he spilled the initial shot from distance.

The team takes to the road again this week with a local derby at Cockburn City - 3pm kick off.

Bealey Blast Beats Balcatta

14.06.2017

An inspired performance from Jackson Bealey has led Armadale to a 4-1 victory over Balcatta in round 16 of the PS4 NPLWA on Saturday.
The midfielder scored two goals and assisted another to help his side gain a much-needed three points as they edge away from the foot of the table.
Armadale coach John O’Reilly praised the performance of Bealey who has had an unlucky run with injuries recently.
“We’ve been unfortunate with Jackson (Bealey) because he’s been injured sporadically throughout the season,” he said.
But today he showed that he’s a fantastic player and it’s good to have him on the park.”
O’Reilly also praised his squad for securing an important win against a Balcatta side that could have leapfrogged them on the table had they won.
Full credit to the lads today, they worked really hard and got reward for their efforts,” he said.
This was definitely one of those games where we needed to get a result, so I’m happy that we did that today.”
